  • JOURNAL CLUBS
  • SPECIAL SEMINARS ON CURRENT TOPICS IN NEUROSCIENCE
  • SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY OUTSIDE ORGANIZED TEACHING

PhD THESIS RESEARCH

The first year: up to 10 ECTS points for obligatory laboratory rotations

The second year: 20 ECTS points obligatory public defense (viva) of the PhD research proposal, as evaluated by student's Committee (3 members).

20 ECTS points for 2 refereed abstracts in the field related to PhD research topic.

The third year: 20 ECTS points for a paper published in journal listed in «Current Contents» and in the field related to PhD research topic.

OBLIGATORY «ELECTIVE» ACTIVITIES

It is clear that laboratory rotations, journal clubs and special seminars are (in terms of time invested) equivalent to main elective courses, and also represent 50% of point-value of main courses. It is also clear that methodological courses are obligatory up to the total of 12 ECTS points, but they also enable the student to obtain the training solely in methods necessary for his/her own research.

The distribution of ECTS points is in accordance with current European criteria:

-          main courses 25 points

-          methodological courses and laboratory rotations 20 points

-          PhD thesis research 20 points.
